Book Fair makes a comeback!

The Townsville Hospital Foundation Book Fair is back with a vengeance and set to become an annual fundraiser for our 100% local North Queensland Charity.

Over the weekend of the 14th and 15th July, thousands of local community members visited the Book Fair at Townsville Stadium to grab themselves some bargains. The Foundation also organised for Triple T to entertain the customers and provide a Coffee Van and Sausage Sizzle to keep the energy flowing.

The response to the event was even bigger than the year before and has shown the potential to increase to a larger venue for this popular event in future years.

"Saturday morning was massive at the Book Fair and we were thrilled with the response we received from the community. We are already taking feedback and hope to expand to a larger venue in 2019" said Megan King, Marketing & Volunteer Coordinator.

More than 10,000 Books, DVDs and CDs were sold throughout the weekend and raised over $15,000 for the Townsville Hospital Foundation. This money will be used to fund applications from staff members and departments which will make a difference in the healthcare of locals throughout North Queensland.

A big thank you to all of our supporters including Grace Removals who transported all of the boxes to and from the stadium and Townsville City Council for the use of the Stadium.

This event would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers who sorted and priced every single item before the Book Fair and assisted at the event.

We look forward to a bigger and better Book Fair in 2019!
